    Playground for Kremenchug Baby Home

Kremechug local baby home in Ukraine is 17 years old. About 100 orphans from birth till the age of 6 live here. Thanks to the relentless care of the orphanage director, Lidiya Vasylyevna Peresunko, the caregivers and, surely, due to the help from the sponsors, these children have a pretty comfortable life. They have cozy sleeping rooms, play rooms and an assembly hall. Orphans’ Promise organization gave them beds, strollers, beautiful chairs, helped them renovate the laundry room and purchased several washing machines.

The baby home has a very big and well-attended territory. However, the children didn’t have a place for outdoor game there. The playground where the children had to play had been long unfit for use – the dusty uncomfortable backyard, dark and lonesome pavilion, old, rusty broken swings were almost dangerous for the children. This is why “Orphans’ Promise” decided to give Kremenchug Baby Home a real children’s joy – a playground. Together with the orphanage director they picked a green lawn and started assembling the playground.

The playground is designed to be very bright and comfortable for the children. There are some slides and steps, spiral slopes and fairy-tale windows. The most outstanding detail of the playground is a big yellow roof in the form of a dog’s head. Besides, there will be two swings here – a baby horse and a baby elephant. All of the details of the playground are smooth and with rounded edges which makes it absolutely safe for the little “citizens” of this future kingdom.

It took a whole day to assemble the playground. While the children had their lunch and took their naps, the work at the lawn was humming. By night there appeared a real fairy-tale castle where the children will feel happy, entertained and cozy.

Lydiya Vasylyevna: I think, not only will this playground be a great aesthetic decoration for our medical facility – it will also mean a lot for the children, for their self-awareness. This complex provides both physical and psychological opportunities. Let’s say that the children will build up their health here and develop their energy. This complex is even designed to help these children learn the colors. And, in complex, it has a great meaning for our facility – for the closed community where these orphans live.

What can be better than happy children’s laugh? When you see how these little children deprived of parental care and love from the very birth rejoice about this gift, you start to realize the greatness of the deeds of people, who are giving them these wonderful presents.

Lydiya Vasylyevna: I would like to thank all of the people who participated in creating such a cozy corner in our orphanage. I want to thank all of the people who care for our baby home and I invite them to visit us and see the true happiness of the children and all of our staff working here. I think all of the people who were working here noticed that all of the children were watching the assembling works with interest and delight. That’s why I am very thankful to you! With the finances that the state provides for us, we definitely wouldn’t be able to afford this for our children. It’s all done due to the sponsors’, humanitarian aid or due to donations – it doesn’t matter how you call it. The main thing is that this help is done for the best of the children, for their development and amusement. It makes them feel that someone in this world needs them.
