Christmas time became a real holiday for the orphans of the Zhukin orphanage. Their American friend John Delphino came to visit them and brought wonderful Christmas presents to the children. 23 boys and girls received packages with various sweets and fruit. But the more important thing was that they had the opportunity to communicate with their old friend who they hadn’t seen in a year. The children and teachers of Zhukin orphanage had another surprise as well- they were given a modern sewing machine as a present. The orphanage needed the sewing machine greatly to make and repair clothes for the children. Another goal of having the machine is to use it to teach the children how to sew and be able to earn a living in the future after leaving the orphanage. All the students and teachers of the Zhukin orphanage express sincere gratitude to John Delphino and his family for his open heart and readiness to help needy people. Besides the Zhukin orphanage, John Delphino visited the Petrivtsy boarding school for orphans where 17 boys and girls received sweets, fruits, toys and clothes.
