Operation Blessing Has Helped a Young Family from Bashtanka Village
A young family, constant need, continuous unemployment and no hope for a better future… Unfortunately, this situations has been well known to too many people in Ukraine, especially to those living in the remote villages. But the most terrible this situation will seem to the people having a baby in their hands, when they have to wake up every morning without knowing whether or not they will have enough food for the baby. Operation Blessing has helped one of the families like that - Vladimir and Nataliya residing in Bashtanka village, Nickolayev region. For the money provided by Operation Blessing they were able to start a small family business - purchase four cows and a watering system for their garden. Now they are able to provide for themselves and for their little daughter.
Vladimir and Nataliya have met in church and got married a couple of years ago. They felt deep love for each other and their shared faith in the Lord. Besides, their lives were very much alike – both of them were left as orphans at the early age, they had lived in a very grave need and none of them had any money. Although they were happy together, after the birth of their baby and a very hard financial condition they felt desperate. There is no work in the village where Nataliya and Vladimir lived. The house in the bigger town that Natalia was able to buy before they got married due to her hard work was left for Nataliya’s little siblings. After the death of their mother, Natalya had to take care of them and worked hard to save them from hunger. And after the birth of her own baby she was the one who really needed help.
The pastor of the local church applied to Operation Blessing for help and his request was heard. Operation Blessing provided $2,500 for Vladimir and Nataliya to start their own small business. This young family was able to buy four cows and a watering system for their garden. Now, only by selling milk from the cows they have a stable monthly income amounting to $300. Besides, they are selling vegetables and growing them has become much easier with the newly installed watering system. Vladimir and Nataliya are thanking God and the Partners for the help that has been provided and say, “Our life has changed completely. We live and feel the desire to live. We want to work and do everything we can!”
